In view of recent social events in Hong Kong, the organiser of the 2019 Vertical World Circuit® Grand Finale, the SHKP Vertical Run for Charity – Race to Hong Kong ICC, scheduled for 1 December, has announced the cancellation of the race. The final stop of the VWC will now take place in Osaka, Japan, on November 10 with the Harukas Skyrun where the extra 50% bonus points for the final race will be awarded, together with the world champion titles and end of season men’s and women’s VWC prizes of HKD 110,000.
Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) as the organiser of ‘SHKP Vertical Run for Charity – Race to Hong Kong ICC’ stated, “In view of recent social events in Hong Kong, 2019 ‘SHKP Vertical Run for Charity – Race to Hong Kong ICC’, scheduled for 1 December (Sunday), will be cancelled in considering the safety of participants and other members of the public. All registered participants will receive a full refund.”
Furthermore, “In support of its belief in sports for charity, SHKP pledges to make an extra donation to make up for the refunded amount, making total donations unchanged for beneficiary charities for their originally planned programmes for underprivileged children and young people.”

We hope to see all vertical run enthusiasts at next year’s Race to Hong Kong ICC, and together we will fill the city with positive energy through exercise.”
Sun Hung Kai Properties, a leading property developer in Hong Kong, opened a new chapter in the city’s stair-climbing history when it staged the first vertical run 2012 at their landmark International Commerce Centre which, since 2013, has represented the Grand Finale on the Vertical World Circuit® calendar.
The next race on the 2019 Vertical World Circuit® will take place in just a few days at the Dubai Holding SkyRun, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Friday, October 25, followed on November 10 for the final leg of the circuit in Osaka with the Harukas Skyrun, concluding the season.
